I've only just joined the site yesterday and have noticed that Simon has a hide which he hires out for red squirrel photography. Out of interest, would there by anyone else out there on the Forum who might be interested in travelling up for a day.

Has anyone else been already?

Di, a group from the forum visited Simon a few weeks ago for a mixture of squirrel and red grouse photography. Simon's hide is large and comfortable and overlooks a clearing with a good number of red squirrels present. It's well worth a trip, infact I've already arranged a return visit for later this year. :)

Hi Di,

As Pete said, there was a small group of us who have tried Simon's hide and we all had an excellent time and really enjoyed the experience and is definitely worth a visit. Now I'm definitely looking at going again although I haven't spoken to Simon about it yet but it would be a weekend visit as Hawes is too far away for a day visit.

Thanks for the link Pete, I hadn't seen that one! We've some friends in Harrogate so could 'visit' them to get closer or just check out the local accommodation situation. What did you do last time?

Claire, when have you arranged to go up?

Hi Di, Welcome to the forum. Let me know if you need any further information about the hide. There's plenty of good accommodation in the area and I can email you a list of recommended B&B's and pubs/hotels if you'd like :)

Di, I'm heading back up in early December, but unfortunately we already have a full house (the hide is designed to take 3 people) or I'd suggest you joined us. Simon's an absolute star and If you decide to book, he'll be able to give you details of the pub the WPF meet used as a base. I can heartily recommend his local for a warm welcome, good accommodation and excellent quality pub food.
