This is actually pretty soft but sharpens up really well for web presentation... so it's shared for fun rather than critique. It was taken during a trip to the Farne Isles, the week before last. I was trying to capture shots of Puffins against the landscape rather than the sky but this was much more difficult to achieve than I had expected, partly due to nursing a still very sore shoulder and partly due to the sheer speed of these little bullets. Never mind - there's always next year!

I know it's not for critique, but I think this is a stunning shot John. Sharp enough where it needs to be and with a lovely background. I'd be well pleased with this myself. :cheers

Thanks Barry. The focus was on or around the tail/rump but it works fine at this size.

Works fine for the web John. Landscape makes a nice background. At least it gives you an excuse to go back again next year. :)
Kind regards

Maggie

Love the look of puffins. Would be more than happy to get a shot as good as this - even if the focus is off it still looks great

Great shot, I'd be delirious if it was mine!

Just come back from there myself and you're right they do move like bullets and most of mine range from blurred to very soft (that’s for the moving ones - the stationary ones are ok :) )

I need so much more practice!
Best Regards

Alison
